Yes, yes, we know … we owe you a report from the unique festival in Urbino, and from a rather special kite workshop Gregor did, but this kite flying session was really nice, so … 🙂
After a hectic week, and the very hot summer, and all the festivals from Tunisia to Dalmatia to Italy, the doctor – Dr. Agon that is – was not pleased with our mental and physical state. His prescription: fly kites!
The temperatures dropped, the wind was to be easy and tame, and there were new kites to be flown – so it was high time for some relaxed kite flying at Ljubljana Marshes.
In fact, this was the first kite flying session in a long time where no inflatables were in the air – because master Janez wanted to show off a bit, and he had three new kites to test and tweak.
The Original Blue rokkaku, and the brand new one with a typical Slovenian pattern appliqué , and The Cube rokkaku (also new), and The Fast-forward rokkaku, and a little rokkaku, and the Rukfaš fled, and the BW astral glider (plan by Ron Gibbian), and the new Color astral glider …
The sky was full of colour and it was nice to see a bouquet of handmade kites flying!
And it was … well, just what the doctor prescribed.
Light breeze, the beautiful Marshes (though some of the buzzing local inhabitants were trying to be annoying), the kites dancing in the turbulences …
Yeah, we put the kites just high enough so the trees behind us messed with the wind, so it was … interesting …
… and then …
… they crashed 🙂
We picked the debris (no kites were damaged, of course), untangled the lines, and decided it was time for some kite aerial photography!
It’s probably not possible to get a new view of the Marshes from this spot, as we had literally hundreds of KAP sessions here. But the Marshes are alive and ever changing, so …
Cindy delta took the Insta360 up into the sky, and Janez let them fly really really far … and high. And Cindy found her inner rokkaku, so we have hundreds of pretty much same photos of the southeastern part of the Marshes …
Ljubljana Marshes, enchanting as always …
Wide views towards Škofljica and Pijava Gorica …
Meandering river Ižica …
One of the last remaining peat forests …
Solitary hill Grmez …
It’s … beautiful 🙂
Doctor’s prescription worked – flying kites is good for both your physical and mental health! – and we are ready for … more kite adventures!
