An Odd Town as an Odd Bird Sees It

We are KAP Jasa team. KAP stands for Kite Aerial Photography, therefore we strive to do a KAP session every time we can, including on festivals.

The great International Kite Festival in O., on the beach of the Adriatic sea by the delta of Neretva river presented a lot of opportunities to shoot some great photos of the sea, the beach, and the emerald green delta behind it.

So we took the venerable Original Blue rokkaku by Dr.Agon kites up, attached the old Nikon to the line and let it fly.

No radio-control this time, and no AutoKAP, so we did it the old school way: point the camera, let it fly, bring it down, point it somewhere else, let it fly again, bring it down again, change the view again …

A nice – and rewarding! – workout!

We got the sea view towards Blace harbour and Pelješac peninsula …

We got the green, fertile delta of Neretva …

We got the kites flying …

And we got the beach with a view all the way to the port of Ploče and the mountains behind it.

Nice, right? 🙂

But the true master KAP session was done not at the beach, but in the town centre, in difficult urban conditions with low wind and tricky late afternoon turbulences – and not by us, but by a bear.

Well, by the bear, Bear Knots, also known as Barry Brown (ok, he let us hold the line for a moment, so we can say it was a team effort).

Bear in action

He flew his delta with an Insta on an autoKAP rig high above the town and the river and the bridges – and above a couple of monsters flying there.

These shots are simply … incredible.

Just try and pick your favourite! 😉

Uff … 😉

Many thanks to Bear Knots a.k.a. Barry Brown for letting us use his KAP shots here!

Kite aerial photos shot with Nikon P330 on The Original Blue rokkaku (the sea, the delta, the kites, the beach), and with Insta Ace on a delta (the town).
